Steven Heere, CPA

As Director of Finance at HBKS Wealth Advisors, Steve blends an extensive background in public accounting with 5 years of CFO experience in private industry to provide technical knowledge and practical insight to support the financial objectives of the firm.

Steve began his career as a staff auditor for a regional public accounting firm in Pittsburgh, PA. Over a tenure of 20+ years that culminated in a partner position, he served clients in a wide variety of privately held companies and not-for-profit organizations. He provided accounting and auditing services to these entities, gaining experience with acquisitions and divestitures, due diligence procedures, contract accounting, financial statement analysis, and various tax issues. Steve channeled this experience to guide business executives and boards on a variety of accounting, compliance, and financial reporting topics, both through technical presentations and tailored client meetings.

Within the firm, he also led a multitude of professional development efforts to disseminate and explain new pronouncements as a regular part of staff training. Steve enjoys technical discussions and building a diversely talented team that can comprehensively address issues.

In industry, Steve applied self-motivation, attention to detail, and strong technical skills developed in public accounting to improve the financial accounting and reporting process and further develop his skills in treasury management, employee benefits, and business insurance. Steve focuses on serving the revenue-producing needs of the company through a solid understanding of the business model and clear, timely, and accurate information.

Steve passed the CPA Exam and graduated from Grove City College in May 1995 with a B.S. and Highest Honors in Accounting. He continues to hold his CPA license and is a member of the AICPA. Steve resides in Harborcreek, PA.
