Again this year, HBKS Wealth Advisors (HBKS) is being recognized as a one of the nation’s most prominent registered investment advisories (RIAs). The recently released study by Financial Advisor magazine ranks HBKS as the 91st largest U.S. RIA. The Securities and Exchange Commission counts more than 15,000 registered U.S. RIAs.
Financial Advisor magazine, which refers to the Top 100 as the industry’s “heavyweights,” ranks RIAs according to assets under management (AUM) in its annual survey. The study lists HBKS’s year-end 2023 AUM at $5.6 billion, an increase over the previous year’s report of nearly 12 percent. Notably, the study reported that HBKS grew its client base more than 23 percent in 2023, with only 13 other firms in the Top 100 increasing their client base by a greater percentage.
In announcing its Top 100, Financial Advisor noted that building a strong RIA business is “a product of sweat equity and the value of the relationships you’ve built.” The magazine characterized the noteworthy change over the years in the RIA population as having “evolved from mom and pop shops into something more corporate, more professional, its cubicles graced by specialists rather than one or two advisors wearing all the hats.”
