Taylor, Mallette and Taranto Earn Principal Status

September 1, 2018, Erie, Pa. … HBKS® Wealth Advisors (HBKS®) announced today that Brittany Taylor, Brian Mallette and Tom Taranto have been named Principals in their respective offices. The announcement was made by CEO and Managing Principal Christopher Allegretti and released in conjunction with the HBKS® Executive Committee and its Principal Group.

Brittany Taylor exemplifies one of our defining attributes, taking a holistic approach to helping her clients preserve and grow wealth through comprehensive investment and wealth protection planning. Her client base is characterized by mostly long-term collaborative relationships with individuals in or near retirement and their families. She serves clients in many states from her office in Erie. Brittany started with the firm in 2001 and has helped many families and individuals through major life changing events, including the loss or disability of a loved one. She is able to help them navigate through these difficult times and provide guidance on how to move forward financially. She stresses the importance of proper planning to ensure her clients’ wishes are carried out. She has been passionate about providing her clients with the highest level of coordinated services in a detailed and personal manner.

Brittany earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management and Finance from Mercyhurst University. Her professional education includes the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® designation. She also maintains Life and Health Insurance licenses. She is a member of the United Way Young Leadership Society and the Holy Cross Church Finance Committee.

Brian Mallette joined HBKS® in June of 2008. He has worked with team members Dan Baer and Brent Wauterlek on client relationships and asset management. His focus has been on the construction of customized asset allocations as well as portfolio analysis and risk management with the goal of delivering portfolios that meet each client’s unique needs. He also oversees the trade executions for the team.

Brian has a background in real estate finance. He earned his B.S. in Economics from the Whittemore School of Business at the University of New Hampshire. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® and has acquired additional certification by earning his FINRA Series 65 Licensure. He is a GAIN Member of the Leadership Collier Foundation in Naples.

Tom Taranto has been with HBKS® since 2011. He has extensive experience working with high net-worth families on comprehensive financial planning, estate planning, insurance planning and asset management services. He has worked with a wide array of clients, including institutional investors, major donors, small businesses and non-profit organizations. He specializes in finding solutions for business and land owners seeking unique financial planning. Specifically, he has helped many clients capitalize on oil, gas and other energy-related investments in order to maximize the yield of their ventures.

Tom earned his B.S. in Business Administration in Marketing and Logistics from The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business and M.A. in Higher Education Administration, also from The Ohio State University. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®. He has also acquired his Life, Annuity and Health Insurance licenses. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and serves on the Finance Committee at Canfield Presbyterian Church. He also serves as Treasurer of the Canfield Soccer Club. He organizes the annual Steve Speece Memorial Triathlon and Picnic benefiting the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
